DESCRIPTION:
Weight Training and Conditioning course is designed to educate students in key areas of health and fitness. Main areas of focus include muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular endurance, power, flexibility and balance. Students will learn weightlifting techniques and will be able to design a weight training and conditioning program that is realistic and attainable for their specific goals. This course does require a high level of physical activity, and dressing for class is required.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
MATERIALS:
Appropriate clothes and shoes for indoor and outdoor participation.
EVALUATION:
In Strength and Conditioning there are 5 points awarded daily and will be earned as followed:
1pt – being to class on time
1pt – being dressed properly
3pts – completing required activities
There may be required papers, reports, or tests that could make up 20% of your grade if assigned.
Course Outcomes:
GRADES:
A = 100% - 93%
B = 92% - 86%
C = 85% - 78%
D = 77% - 70%
F = below 59%

- Be respectful of equipment, self & others.
- Demonstrate cooperation & safety during weight training and conditioning activities.
- Demonstrate proper technique while performing weight training and conditioning activities.
- Support peers during training activities.
